John Clinton has been involved in the private equity insurance deals markets for over thirty years. He founded Farmington Capital Partners “FCP” in 2007 and has served as the Managing Partner since its inception. While at FCP, John has been involved in software and InsurTech companies such as SmartPay, InsurIQ, Preparis, Medical Risk Management, and Aureus Analytics; insurance distribution and marketing companies such as Everest,
KLN, Wamberg Genomic Advisors; and MGA/ MGU companies such as Zon Re, AccuRisk, and Insight.

From 1991 to 2012, John Clinton was Managing Partner for the Conning Capital private equity funds (CCP). During his tenure at CCP, Mr. Clinton increased assets under management from $100 million to $700 million and completed over 50 investments in different insurance enterprises. Investments included technology and services companies such as SS&C Technology, Home Financial Network, Ward North America, Hales and Paradigm Health; insurance marketing and distribution companies such as Anderson & Anderson, Galtney Group, Hobbs Group and Kinloch; and insurance carriers and MGAs such as Executive Risk, Allied World Assurance Company, Discover Re, PAULA Financial, Catlin and CapMAC.

Prior to running CCP, Mr. Clinton was a founding partner of Concord Partners, a private equity fund sponsored by Dillon Read. Here investments included Kramer Capital, NAC Re and North American Company for Life and Health. Mr. Clinton has also served as the CFO of an insurance operating company called NACPAC. He holds a BA from Amherst College and an MBA from the Stern School of Business. His professional credentials include earning the CPA and CPCU designations.
