Investment Approach

Farmington Fund is targeted to be $50 to $100 million and was formed to continue the Partners’ proven strategy of hands-on, value-added investing in companies focused on the insurance and financial services. We look for companies with between $5 and $100 million of revenues that are poised for rapid growth. We seek to establish partnerships with entrepreneurs and are active both as board members and as strategic advisors throughout the life of the investments. The Fund will have an emphasis on specialty insurance underwriting and distribution platforms.

Our current direct investment size of $2.5-10 million is modest. We are, however, capable of bringing substantially larger amounts of capital to a transaction through our relationships with co-investors, strategic partners and debt providers. We often take equity positions as part of our merchant banking approach to a long term partnership with clients. The specialty nature of the portfolio will enable returns of 20-25% and ensure liquidity.
